Sometimes we are just simply to busy and all of our vehicles are rented out.Your Pre-Booking are for us to be able to meet your request.And therefore it is important for us to recieve your information to best meet your demand. Please always when asked insert your Country Code to your Phone number. This for us to be able to send your verification and Price.We also use WhatsApp to communicate and send verifications to our customers.We deliver your vehicle of choice to your Hotel when renting for more than three(3) days in a row. We can not deliver a vehicle outside Ierapetra City limits without adding a small fee for delivery when less than three(3) days rental. If you need for us to deliver your rental vehicle anyways, please mention this in your Pre-Booking so we can include the Price for delivery in the Total Price Offer.Please always add your real phone number + your Country Code.If you are using your number for WhatsApp, it is easier to verify.We do not handle any Pre-bookings with lack of information*.Please fill All the fields in the Form.Only one(1) vehicle can be booked at a time.*Renters that do not have the demanded requirements on category for drivinglicence and still proceeds with his/hers booking are solely responsible for giving wrong information. Our Rental Terms

Renter = Lesee of the rental contractNOTE!It is not legal to drive on a rented vehicle without a valid licence + category.It is free of charge to add an additional driver, please do so.Renters that do not have the demanded requirements on category for drivinglicence and still proceeds with his/hers booking are solely responsible for giving wrong information. Yiotis Rental will in case of delivery of a vehicle, charge an extra fee for the extra costs, pending on our cost(s) (fuel, time and personel).If the driver on the rented vehicle are not added to the contract, it is considered to be driving without licence. Yiotis will cancel the rental and emedietly retrieve the vehicle - Without any returning of deposit and/or any cancellation refund.If there are an accident or any occuring situation with the vehicle involved and the driver are not on the contract. Full comprehensive insurance. We provide the most competitive full insurance service on the market including: Fully comprehensive insurance, collision damage waver (c.d.w.) Full cover for Fire - Theft - Windows.
24 hours road assistance. We provide road service on 24h basis in cooperation with the largets road service insurance company in Greece.
Vehicle replacement in case of breakdown. We replace your car or bike with a new one in case of damage or car accident.
A second driver to the contract for free. No additional charge for the second driver.
Airport - port - hotel service. We deliver/collect your vehicle, all over the island, to the destination of your choise (airport, port, hotel, etc) for free. A small charge is incurred for rental periods less than 1 week. We also offer delivery of the vehicle at any hotel in Crete.
More Days - Better Price! Special prices for many days rental. Our prices get lower for the move days. The longer you rent! the lower it gets!
No extra charge for after midnight arrivals. You are not charged any extra cost in case your arrival at the delivery point (airports, ports) is after midnight.
No extra charge on delays. You are not charged any extra cost in case of delayed arrival of your flight (or your ferry) at the place of delivery point.
Free baby and child seats. We offer the highest security seats for babies and children.
Free road map of Crete. We provide a free detailed road map of the island.
Free Airport Parking at the car delivery. You are not charged the parking cost of the car when the delivery and return point is an airport (other competitors charge this cost to the customers).* Yiotis Rental will never add any Extra fees after you make your reservation.We know that many other Car Rental Companys say they have a lower rental price, however when display in your final confirmation, they might added extra fees such as Insurance or other charges not displayed first.When your rent a vehicle with Yiotis Rental, you can be safe that the price we offer our customers will Always be the Final price.Our prices Always Include - 100% Insurance & Free Kilometers.

Booking & Reservation

The rates are calculated upon the pick-up / delivery of the vehicle at the same location (with the possibility of pick-up / delivery at different locations).​
 
The renter assumes full responsibility for traffic violations and pays the respective fines.
 
It is the Renter who is responsible to insert correct info in the reservation/booking of a vehicle. If the information is non valid and/or not correctly inserted. The booking will not be valid.

Your Pre-booking will be confirmed in a SMS sent to the Phone number inserted in your booking information. Please insert your Country Code (+00) -digits before your number. (For pre-bookings without country code, an confirmation can not be sent in SMS)
 
When Renter recieves a confirmation from Yiotis Rental (E-mail). The booking is considered to be completed and are obligated for payment (included all extra fees (transport etc.).
 
For delivery of vehicles that do not get picked up. Yiotis Rental will take a fee of €25 for petrol, personel and time loss. The fee will be added to the bill if the lesee picks up his rental at a later moment. If the lesee do not continue with the rental, Yiotis Rental will debit this separate.
 
Any bookings made online or by telephone or email. That are agreed upon to be picked up at our Rental Office(s). Must be picked up at the same day of rental within two(2) hours after agreed time for pickup. After this two(2) hours, Yiotis will cancel the reservation/booking and the vehicle may be rented to someone else.
 
When Renter recieves a confirmation from Yiotis Rental (E-mail). The booking is considered to be completed and are obligated for payment (included all extra fees (transport etc.).
 
Our Online booking are staffed Monday to Sunday between 09.00-21.00 All bookings made will be processed for the next following day.
We advise to visit us at our rental shop in Ierapetra, or call us.
The opening hours are: 09.00 - 21.00

If the renter do not wish to proceed with the rental period, After the booking is confirmed, The renter must then contact Yiotis Rental before 09.00 AM before the rental period starts. Yiotis Rental must then add a fee on the booking of 20% and also the fee for petrol of the transportation of the vehicle, such as to Chania, Heraklion etc.

Due to high risk of over booking rate during high season. Yiotis Rental do not display prices on our website. This because of a daily rate but also because of the need of faster booking response.

Insurance

All our Car Rental prices include Full Comprehensive Insurance (C.D.W.).
All our Motorcycle Rental prices include simple Liability Insurance*.
All our rental vehicles are equipped with Doorlocks and/or Steering locks.
At any accident cases, we will report this to the Insurance company for documentation. Your case will have an "Reference ID", often the Number on your rental contract or in your Online/Electronic confirmation (code).

Moto:
*Our Motorcycles and Mopeds have basic liability insurances.
Below are insurance loss of damage caused by the renter:

Accident:
The insurance (Basic Liability Insurance) covers the amount up to €500 (Motorcycles), any damages over this amout must be covered by the Renter.

Theft:
The renter is responsible for any damage or theft (partial or total) caused to rented motorcycle up to the amount of market value at the time of the accident/theft.

§Personal equipment, items or/and belongings lost during theft are not covered by the insurance or/and by Yiotis Rental.

Parking:
It is solely the renters resonsibilaty to care for vehicle safety during Parking.
Vehicles turned over by storm and/or hard winds are not covered in the insurance. Always see to that the vehicle are steady secured during hard winds (§13).

Cars:
All our Cars have Full Comprehensive Insurance (C.D.W.) included in price.
We provide the most competitive full insurance service on the market including in our prices, such as:

Fully Comprehensive Insurance (C.D.I.).

§Personal equipment, items or/and belongings lost during theft are not covered by the insurance or/and by Yiotis Rental.

Insurance do NOT cover:
 
(§1) Accident caused after illegal use of drugs, alcohol abuse.
(§2) Traffic offences (failure to stop at red lights, STOP sign violation, etc).
(§3) Damages at the bottom of the car.
(§4) Damages caused to the bottom of the vehicle, tires and rims.
(§5) Driver other than those signed in the Contract.
(§6) Driving with a flat tire.
(§7) For accidents not reported according to Greek legislations.
(§8) Parking tickets during the rental period(s).
(§9) You are advised not to drive on unpaved roads.
(§10) Damages to Bike/Motorcycle tilted/overturned by wind (driven or parked).
(§11) Engine damage caused by driving on unpaved roads and/or Off road with Motorcycles/Scooters (§9).
(§12) Engine damage caused to No Licence moped, AM moped (50cc) due to driving outside City limits roads (30, 40 and 50km/h).
(§13) Damages on rental vehicle and/or another vehicle hit by rental vehicle caused by hard wind (vehicle nocked over) during Parking and/or Driving. Parking are the responsibility of the renter.
(§14) Lost Vehicle Key fee are €150/key.
(§15) Lost Vehicle Documents fee are €250/vehicle.
(§16) Lost Key for Bicycle lock are €20/lock.
(§17) Personal equipment, items or/and belongings lost during theft are not covered by the insurance or/and by Yiotis Rental.

Note!
It is not allowed to Drive The Vehicle if the Driver are Not the driver according to Contract!

Question 6

Fuel, Free kilometers, Charges & Fees

Fuel
The renter are solely obligated to return the vehicle with the same content of the tank as it was when recieved.
 
Kilometers
Free kilometers are included in the price

Charges & Fees
It is possible to pay the rental fee in Cash or with Creditcard at the Rental office.
It is also possible to pay with card at the delivery spot. This needs two things minimum;
- Access to WiFi.
- That you tell us in advance to bring a cardreader.

Helmet(s)
Helmets are included in Moto rental (max. 2 helmets per client).

Lost, Damaged or Broken
Lost Vehicle Key fee are €150/key.
Lost Vehicle Documents fee are €250/vehicle.
Lost Key for Bicycle lock are €20/lock.

Question 7

Cancellation & Refunds

Accepted Answer

Cancellation:
All Cancellations must be done before 12 hours of rental period starts.
This concerns Online booking vehicles with delivery only.

Cancellation of Booking must be done either by email or telephone (no text).
For all Online bookings with delivery outside the Ierapetra area, this must be done 12 hours before rental period starts.
Only the person on the contract may cancel the rental agreement.
For all Cancelled vehicles with delivery, Yiotis Rental will take a fee of €25 for petrol, personel and time loss.
Fee paid by card will be returned within 12-14 banking days.
Fee may also be returned at our office in cash.
No cancellation are accepted without any Contract or Booking confirmation email.

Early Returning Policy:

No cancellations for Early returning of vehicles (before rental period ends according to contract).
There are no Petrol refund.

*Cancellations (Car, Bicycle, Motorcycle, E-Bike):
All Cancelleations must be made written, either by Email or Telephone (no text). It is also possible to cancel your reservation at our office.

Question 8

Driving on Roads in Crete

Yes! It is safe to drive in Crete!
We know - The question about the difficulty to drive when in Crete.
But it is not that hard anyway, not if you consider some important things.

First, -Yes there are drivers here that will drive very close to your back.
And also perhaps do overturnings even if it is not legal, but that also happens in all European countries and not only in Greece, specificaly on Crete island.

There are some things you must have in mind driving in Crete and especially in and outside small towns.
-Locals will more often drive a Pick-up truck and sometimes they might be overloaded with cargo, therefore they drive slow and under the speedlimit.

-Crossing double lines on the road are not a good idea, but you will see that the majority of cretan drivers will do so anyway.

-Entering a circulation roundabout, cars already in the circulation ring have to let traffic entering from the right to drive first into the circulation, before you can turn right out of the circulation ring.

-The use of Turningsignal lights are not often used in traffic and can sometimes cause confusion, but keep distance and always focus on the car infront of you and their breaklights (Keep a distance to the car infront of you).

-Yes, The fast drivers are everywhere on the Island, and now and then you will have them pulling up behind close to your vehicle stressing to go around you. However, keep to the speedlimit and let them go around you.

-After rain the roads are very, very slippery and can be dangerous.

Speedlimits
Many who are new to drive in Greece often get confused when following the speed limit signs on smaller roads. These signs sometimes have not been changed since the 1980's and therefore causes irritation in traffic.

Within City limits the speedlimit are 50km/h (31mph).
Outside City limits are 110km/h (68mph).
Freeways are 90km/h (55mph)
Highways are 120km/h (75mph).

Some Traffic laws
In Greece we drive on the right-hand side of the road.
Driver and Passenger must wear seat belts.
Children under 10 can not travel in the front seat. Child seats are mandatory for children up to age 4.
Children between 3 and 11 years, measuring less than 4 feet 4 inches must be seated in an appropriate child restraint for their size.
Use of a mobile phone is illegal while driving.
The use of headlights in towns is strictly prohibited.
It is illegal to have over 0.05% level of alcohol in the blood.
Dipped headlights should be used when there’s poor daytime visibility.
Accidents with animals involved must be reported to the Police.
Some roads will not have any Roadsigns or Speed limit signs.
Speed signs & Speed cameras can be covered behind an obstacle.
Unnatural use of hornsignal may cause a fine and ticket.
Never pay any fines "on the road", pay at a Post office or Bank.
Never try to bribe a Police officer.
